As I remember, the main channels in the 60s were as you say: NBC, ABC, and CBS. However, you could change the channel to channel 1 or 2 to get either UHF or VHF, which to me were the first public television stations.
One of the programs for children that I remember but for which I cannot recall the title had a train conductor/engineer behind a cardboard train engine come into the room, circle around, then he'd say something about the show. At the end of the show, the conductor would wave as he "rode" the train out of the room.
I'd love to know what that show was called!

Thank you!

Admin reply: Thank you Bonnie for visiting and for your comments. I don't have a clue what show that could be. It may have been local programming not seen nationwide. I do remember UHF TV. On Channel 32 I use to watch OSU TV and watch Ohio State Buckeyes football.

I was in need of some sanity tonight, so I typed "the 60's" into the google search bar and now, here I am. I'm so tickled to find you! Earlier tonight I found the complete series of Bullwinkle on Amazon! Remember that show?
It seems like a million years ago that we had innocence, fun, pride in country and belief in tomorrow. Thanks for this great slice of history and a little joy break! :)

Admin reply: Thank you Donna. Glad to hear we could bring back some sanity to you in this crazy world. Do come back as new content is added weekly.

My sister tells me I was born the wrong time I should have been born back in the 50's and early 60's I would have loved to meet Elvis that's all I listen to is his music and on top of that I go to Graceland at least twice a year.

Admin reply: Wow Kelly thanks for sharing.
