Born in 1951 and grew up in the best of times EVER. I remember playing with all the kids in the neighborhood, late into the summer evenings, playing kick the can and never being afraid to be out. Grew up with Motown, loved The Doors. My only regret from the 60's? Not going to Woodstock. I remember living in Florida at the time (spent a year down there) and almost hopping on the freeway and hitching all the way there. I wouldn't trade my memories for anything. My kids have told me they wished they could have experienced what we all did.

Admin reply: Thank you Denise for sharing your memories. We indeed experienced a special time growing up.

I was Born in 1952 in Great Bend , KS. So I grew up on the best music ever in my opinion. I came from a broken home , very poor , so life was tough ,but this music made it tolerable . Just found this site today , I thank you very much for having it .

Admin reply: You are welcome Nancy. Glad you found us.

I made my way across from the East coast thanks to auto driveaway and hitchhiking, hitting Haight Ashbury mid-'67. All by accident as little money but a burning desire to see America when few could afford to travel. Met some wonderful people and had some amazing experiences, an unforgettable time. Missed out on Monterey festival but hey, you can't do everything.

Admin reply: Thank you for sharing Frank. It had to have been a special time in your life. Maybe you should ride a book about those travels.

I grew up in rural Ohio and graduated from high school in 1967. It was a great time.

Maybe somone can help me find a song from back then. I remember someone recorded a comedy song about stumbling into a bingo parlor and not knowing what was going on. Players were chanting things with each number called and he was very confused. By the end of the song he had joined in and become a bingo player and was also chanting with the numbers called. Does anyone else remember that song and know who recorded it, and what it was called?

Thanks for your good site and keep remembering the great times of the 60's.

Ed.

Admin reply: Thanks for visiting Ed. I searched and cannot find any reference to that song. If you could recall some of the lyrics it may help.

I have a friend that was looking for something called Primer Beer. It came in a brown long neck bottle. It was a decent sized bottle about a foot or so tall. It was gold colored, I guess a Pilsner maybe. Thank you.

Admin reply: I don't think I can help you with that John. I do know that the act of priming beer is like priming wheat & honey to it and so forth but I never have heard of Primer Beer. Sorry.
