I thought a great song for your Vie Nam Page would be Yellow River by Christie. It was popular during the early 1970's and is about a soldier who can't wait to go home. Another good song about the war is SKY Pilot by the Animals.

Thanks

Admin reply: Both great songs Tom. The Vietnam page is really songs from the 60s since this is a 60s website. "Sky Pilot" is a somewhat of a protest song so I avoided putting it up for that reason although I do love that song,

I accidently came across your web site early this week while looking for something else pertaining to Baby Boomers and Summer Songs of the 60's. This is the BEST SURPRISE! I have not listened to any other site since finding yours! love the Mid-West connection we share (we're both Ohio Baby Boomers)your selection of music is beyond GREAT! Thank you for your obvious hard work putting this site together;I appreciate Every single song and all the background information. I espically LOVED your story about your old neighborhood and Union Street ~It was so much like what we did growing up. Even the name of the street! I lived on Union Avenue! I think kids today would think our lives were pretty boring, hanging out on someone's porch, taking walks through the neighborhood and waiting for that "Special Guy" to come boping down the street, all while listening to tunes on a transistor radio ~ Only WE know how special those times were. Thank you~ Rita Ann Gaebelein

Admin reply: Thank you so much Rita Ann for your reflection of a great time to have been young and growing up. I am so glad you found my site and hope you continue to enjoy the weekly and monthly updates. From one Buckeye to another. Stay cool.

This music makes me feel young again. Maybe this new generation need to go back in time to listen to the classics.

Good job! Neal.

Admin reply: Thank you Giuseppe. We appreciate your tuning in. And you are correct, young folks of today can certainly learn more from the music of the 60s than what is played today. Thanks again Giuseppe.

Great site bud! There are things (shows) I forgot about and that's not easy - lol. I have one for you to add "Sea Hunt" with Lloyd Bridges. ;)

Admin reply: A great show Hank! I will look into adding it to the TV shows webpages.

Excellent website, Neal, very well organized and presented, with great thoughts and insights, and of course, wonderful tunes :D

By the way, I was born in '55, then grew up in the 60s/70s in Thornville, Ohio, but spent a year in Washington C.H. (1960) and another in Wilmington (1965/66), so used to travel as a kid through Circlevillle a lot. Had a best friend at OSU from Roundtown as well. You describe the whole scene accurately, and poignantly.

Now I teach in Singapore, but I also have an Internet radio program with soul, jazz, rock, world music, etc., radiomoka.com. I use your site for reference.

Best compliments!

Admin reply: Thank you for visiting The 60s Official Site and sharing your comments. Neal and I hope to continue to have this venture of music and memories of the 60s for as long as possible.

It's hot here in Texas today, around 108, so I've been sitting around thinking of better places and better times I've seen. Something that came to mind was January 1965 and it was raining and I was with a cute girl named Karen from Pasadena, California and we were on the beach in Malibu. We were getting wet but didn't care. It was the first time I ever saw the Pacific Ocean and I'll never ever forget it, or her.
I listen to your Jukebox music almost every day and it always brings back memories of great times. I wonder if all the great times are behind me. It seems like it.

Admin reply: Great times, great music. There will never be any better time I believe. Thank you Joe for visiting us and sharing your memories.

Though I was born in 1975, I came to love the 60s as a girl in 1986. My mother suggests I may have died at Woodstock and came back 6 years later.

I'm particularly fond of the British invasion, with these beautiful bands doing rock & roll better than the Yanks ever could! And they looked good while at it, too, especially the Who with their beauty, style and power rock!

Admin reply: Thank you Sara for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts.
