Great job on pairing up the songs each week for "Vote for your favorite version of a song" Both "Gladys Knight & the Pips" and "Marvin Gaye" version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" did well on the billboard chart. You could have added "Creedence Clearwater Revival" version as well. like all three CCR would have won my vote. thanks carl

Drew :!time:

Admin reply: Thank you Drew. Yes I thought of CCR and I like their version as well.

Love this show! Question; what is the intro theme called? It is used in one of my brit-coms called Bottom! Please advise ... Cheers!

Admin reply: Thanks for your comments and for listening in to Soundtrack of the 60s. The opening and closing theme is "Last Night" by the Mar-Keys.

Hi Carl & Neal

This week "vote for you favorite version of a song" is a tough one! as You may know the origin of the song "The Lion Sleep Tonight" is fascinating to read up on. originally written and recorded by Solomon Linda in 1939 title "Mbube" anyone out there who like the song "The Lion Sleep Tonight" I recommend reading up on the song if you don't know the history of the song.

Drew :!time:

Admin reply: Thanks Drew. Yes indeed it is an interesting song. Also after the Tokens recorded their version. They asked Neil Sedaka what he thought of it and he said something like it would not do well on the charts. Even songwriters can be wrong.

Thanks for the show again. Loved the show and most of the songs. Dillon is the best. Really enjoyed hearing the info about his song. Neal, you are right about the Glasgow, MT mosquitoes. I had one pick me up and brought me home on leave one time.

Admin reply: Thanks for the Guest Book posting, Wally. Yes indeed,
