He convinced by his cousin Pearl to move his family to California.  So Jed and his family and nephew, Jethro, son of Pearl, moved to Beverly Hills, California, the land of swimming pools and movie stars.  They drove their old jalopy flatbed truck with all their belongings on it. They moved in next door to the banker Milburn Drysdale. Mr. Drysdale takes the Clampetts under his wing to help them adjust from a backwoods environment to that of a millionaire living in Beverly Hills.
