With the arrival of cooler weather, I decided to do something different or just plain crazy. I have selected some of the best songs of the 60s era with lyrics or title about the sun, sunshine, rain, autumn, summer, winter, wind, you name it, and I compiled them here as songs of weather. Certainly these songs don't give us a weather report as such, but their titles and lyrics actually have all the aspects of the seasons and the most common weather terms. Truly most of the themes are about love and romance but in a weatherly manner. The most common weather word used in 1960s music was rain. My research found more songs about rain than any other weather term. The least amount of matches was found under winter if you exclude Christmas. Truly, most of these selected songs, as any hit from the 60s, are about love and romance but these are presented with some weatherly emphasis. So sit back and enjoy these tunes.
