You Make the Choice
Throughout rock history there have been many versions of great
songs especially during the fifties and sixties decade. Each week we will look at two versions of a song and let
you decide which version you like the best. You can listen to each version before making your vote. Your vote will
determine the best version based on the total votes from the visitors to The 60s Official Site. The results
will be announced here and in the newsletter and a new song added for your vote for the following
week.
During last week's vote
you had a choice to vote on your favorite version of "Not Fade Away." The artist choices were Buddy Holly and The Rolling Stones. Buddy
Holly's 1957 song which he penned failed to reach Billboard's Top 100. The Rolling Stones'
version peaked at #48 on July 18, 1964. The votes have been tabulated and the winner is The Rolling Stones who
received 61% of the votes.
This week's competition is the song "Sha La La."
The artist choices are The Shirelles and Manfred Mann. As always you can listen to each version before
casting your vote. If you haven't heard these versions for awhile I
suggest take time to listen to them and then select the version you enjoy the most.

Choice 1 - "Sha La La"/The Shirelles
Choice 2 - "Sha La La"/Manfred Mann
