CQ Hams Still Groovin’ In The ‘60s

CQ Hams Still Groovin’ In The ‘60s is a domain for ham radio operators and rock and roll afficionados alike who love the music of the 1960s. Whether you are a ham or not, I hope you enjoy the biographies, trivia, and information contained here on the artists and groups and their songs.

The site also compliments a radio net (see below) for hams on the same topics. In June 2007, I integrated my love for ham radio and '60s pop-rock music and television shows with the start of a weekly net on the 220 MHz. band. Since this time The 1960s Pop-Rock Music and TV Shows Net has continued to air twice a week on the following days and times:

TUESDAY at 6:30 pm M.S.T. on the 147.220 repeater atop Mingus Mountain near Prescott, Arizona and W7EI-L EchoLink Node

WEDNESDAY at 6:30 pm M.S.T. on the 224.060 repeater atop Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona, the KA7LFX-R EchoLink Node, and AllStar Node 493670. The purpose of the Net is to serve as an on-air meeting place to discuss, reminisce and learn more about the music and TV shows that had a memorable impact on the 1960s and well beyond. The Net features trivia questions about the songs of the 1960s and the artists who recorded them as well as on TV shows from the decade and the actors who starred in them. There are also two featured segments each week - This Week In 1960s Television History and The Top 10 Hits For The Week Of ….

If you are PASSIONATE about ‘60s music and TV, please join us on one of the Nets. All Baby Boomers "into the '60s" are welcome!!!
